Hi, thank you very much for the previous post of PDF OCR (comments closed, had to talk here).

I looked all over the web, and found only your page that helped me. I can't understand this: Google, Yahoo, MSN are all doing this, but nobody gives a way of doing PDF OCR with tesseract.

Still, I have one question: the quality of my tif was pretty bad for the four pages of the PDF (I used the "repair aluminum wiring" example from Google announcement), and the text had many errors. What do you do for that?]]></description>

ThanQ matthias. That is a good point. In some cases, pdftotext will not extract text but binary information and then the above shown method might help. An interesting implementation for Plone using OCR is given by NA. I have tried it out and it works perfectly.]]></description>
